2022 ROUNDUP

2022! What a year!!

Our busiest yet by far and so much fun! A few years ago we came out of the lockdowns and, like many people, were unsure what our business would look like. During those few crazy years we found lots of businesses and organizations including pubs and schools were keen to use our tipis as spaces to eat or teach lessons, tipis proved to be great for government restrictions as they are airy and not an enclosed building, which enabled many businesses to continue to carry on as they would have hoped to in any other year! We also sold lots of tipis to people who wanted to use them as added ‘rooms’ (in some cases to house family who were in lockdown with them, and in other cases to avoid family who were in lockdown with them!!1 don’t worry we treated these purchases with the strictest of confidence!)

As the last few years have rolled on we have been very pleased to see that we continue to keep busy and our lovely customers continue to buy tipis from us to be delivered all over the world. Within the UK we spent last year travelling to meet lots of new people and last summer we also took 20 tipis to Glastonbury where we set them up on the famous tipi fields for people to sleep in as glamping accommodation, it was a boiling hot summer and we all had a great time on site for 3 weeks to set up, enjoy the festival and take down afterwards! Can you believe it didn’t rain once!

Here now in 2023 we still continue to see a huge surge in the glamping world, the staycation seems to be here to…..well….stay, tipis are a fantastic way to get a good income for many farms and campsites who want to diversify or offer something a little bit different (as much as £800 a week for a tipi rental!) with very little outlay. We are always happy to support people in these ventures as we have a lot of experience personally here, so please do contact us if you feel you wish to explore tipis as rental units!

We will be continuing to make mini tipis for the little people in your life and will also continue to make giant lodges to be used instead of Kata tipis (which are much more expensive than the Sioux style which we make) We can make tipis up to 32ft in diameter, commonly these are used by wedding venues, tipi rental companies, catering and stall businesses who take them to festivals, retreat centres as teaching and meditation spaces and much more. We have found many people also like that we are happy to enlarge the doors to make them wheelchair accessible or tall enough so that no bending is needed and we continue to offer extra doors into the back of tipis to allow them to be joined together and create a larger internal space.

We also continue to make and sell our Sway Beds which are giant hammocks the size of a king size mattress and can now be found as far away as Australia! More info under the Other Things We Make tab.

As always we still have our adventurous side and have worked with people on all sorted of exciting bespoke canvas work, from yurt covers, to sails and canopies to totally new never made before canvas structures. If you would like to chat to us about an idea you have however big or small we would love to hear from you!

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of 2022 and all the years before, we really look forward to all 2023 has to bring!
