Our Ethos
Local Collaboration and Charitable Efforts
At MyTipi, we prioritise collaboration with local small businesses, we consciously choose small family-run companies located in the South West where possible when sourcing our tipi materials and accessories. This approach not only supports our community but also significantly reduces road miles, aligning with our eco-friendly philosophy.
A portion of our profits is allocated to making positive changes within and beyond our local community. Each month, we use a percentage of our profits to give to various initiatives, including support for local charities, food banks, sponsorship of community events, and contributions to Native American causes, such as direct assistance to individual GoFundMe drives for Native American projects and support for initiatives like the Pine Ridge Reservation, underlining our dedication to both local and broader social responsibilities.
In our effort to give back to the environment, for every tipi sold, we plant a native broadleaf tree. This initiative is our way of contributing to reforestation and biodiversity, ensuring a greener planet for future generations.
Some of the charities we have supported this year so far are
Our Vision
To create and promote tipis that harmonise with nature, offering a path to sustainable living and eco-consciousness.
Crafting superior tipis that balance traditional charm with modern durability, while always seeking innovative improvements.
Offering exceptional tipi experiences that connect people to nature, emphasising the beauty and simplicity of earth-friendly living.
Upholding excellence in our products and services, nurturing strong bonds with our customers through ethical and transparent practices.
Creating a sense of community, championing ethical practices, and supporting local artisans and businesses.
Sustainable Practices
Using trees sourced from sustainably managed woodlands for tipi poles, wood for doors and ash pegs which all also come from local sources.
Using high-quality, long-lasting, and fully or partially biodegradable materials like 100% Cotton and Polycotton Canvas for our tipis, we endeavour to use hemp fabric when we feel it is of a suitable standard.
Extending the life of our products with comprehensive after-sales advice on maintenance and which products will help lengthen the life of a tipi, and by ensuring we only use the highest quality British-proofed canvas to ensure it has the best life span possible.
Using biodegradable components where possible such as wood and sisal rope in our products.
Selecting transportation options focused on fuel efficiency and mileage reduction where possible - we will try and group our deliveries together where possible and ensure our couriers are as low impact as possible too.
Implementing energy-efficient solutions in our facilities, including LED lighting and optimised heating systems, we expect within the next 12 months to have a fully off-grid workshop set up with solar and wind power!
